KANE COUNTY, Ill. — Authorities have identified 24-year-old Lindsey Bouska of Plainfield as the woman who died following a serious two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in unincorporated Kane County. According to the Kane County Coroner’s Office, officials were notified at approximately 1 p.m. Monday by the Big Rock Fire Department about a fatal crash at the intersection of Dauberman Road and Scott Road in Big Rock. The collision caused significant damage to the vehicles involved.
Coroner’s deputies were dispatched to the scene to begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the Kane County Coroner’s Office for further examination. The victim was identified Wednesday as Lindsey Bouska, a 24-year-old Plainfield resident. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday as part of the investigation. Preliminary findings indicated that Bouska died from multiple injuries consistent with those sustained in a motor-vehicle crash, according to the coroner’s office.
Toxicology samples were also collected during the examination and submitted to a national forensic laboratory for comprehensive analysis. Those results could provide additional information as investigators continue working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision. Kane County Coroner Dr. Monica Silva and her staff expressed their sincere condolences to Bouska’s family and friends following the tragic loss.
The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the collision and working to determine what caused the two vehicles to crash at the Big Rock intersection. For Bouska’s family and loved ones, the identification brings confirmation during an extraordinarily difficult time. They are now left to grieve the loss of a young woman whose life was unexpectedly cut short. Further information regarding the investigation may be released as authorities continue examining the evidence and awaiting toxicology results.
